Volunteers

Every day our centre is staffed by Riverton Organic Food Co-op volunteers. These generous people ensure any enquiries are directed to someone who can help.

A typical day (or half-day) for a volunteer may involve serving customers, stocking shelves, basic cleaning tasks and / or bagging up bulk produce for sale.

In exchange, volunteers are eligible for a percentage discount (5-15%) on the organic produce in the centre.

Why become a volunteer?

It's a great way to meet new people, learn new and valuable skills, gain a reference and contribute to your community. Plus you get a staff discount!

We also have non-Food Co-op volunteers who help with the Community Heritage Orchard (in Castle St), Community Forest Garden (behind fire station), Southland Seed Savers, event management, and other projects.

We have a diverse range of talented people at the Centre on a paid and voluntary basis. Find out more about volunteering for us or offer your help by selecting the button below!
